French organist Anne-Gaëlle Chanon is praised for her elegant, precise and warm-blooded playing. In 2005, she first attracted international attention by winning 1st prize at the international Xavier Darasse competition in Toulouse, followed by 3rd prize at the Paul Hofhaimer competition in Innsbruck (2007). Since then, she has been invited to perform on Europe's finest historical and recent instruments (Martinikerk Groningen, Laurenskerk Alkmaar, Sainte-Croix Bordeaux, Notre-Dame Paris), in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka) and Latin America (Costa Rica).

Several collaborations mark her quest to broaden the organ's means of expression: for instance, she realised projects with the actor Alain Carré (Messiaen/Dante, Saint-Saëns/ Kipling), the painter Bena and with the mezzo-soprano Marion Lebègue, with whom she premiered an arrangement of Wagner's Wesendonck-Lieder on Radio France's new organ. She also works regularly with contemporary composers such as Thierry Escaich, Gilbert Amy, Bernard Foccroulle, Guy-Olivier Ferla, Pierre Farago and Pieter-Jelle de Boer. Several new works have been dedicated to her.

Especially appreciated for her performance of early music, Anne-Gaëlle Chanon plays music from all style periods from the 14th to the 18th century. She owes her in-depth knowledge of this repertoire to Jean Boyer, Liesbeth Schlumberger and Lorenzo Ghielmi, with whom she studied in Lyon and Milan and graduated gloriously. Furthermore, her meetings with musicians, musicologists and organ builders such as Michael Radulescu, Michel Chapuis, Jean Saint-Arroman, Bertrand Cattiaux, Didier Chanon, Francis Chapelet and Andrés Céa-Galán were of great importance. She devoted several articles and a research project to the interpretation of the works of Jehan Titelouze.

Anne-Gaëlle Chanon is organ teacher at the Conservatoire of Saint-Quentin (Picardie/Northern France), where, together with local partners, she puts a lot of energy into educational projects around the organ, especially for young children.
